About Zentangle and Kathy Muscari
Dr. Kathy Muscari loves creating tangles. As a Certified Zentangle® Teacher (CZT), she also enjoys showing others how to draw these beautiful, repetitive patterns. Muscari will be presenting a brief history of tangling, exhibiting some of her work, and providing a Zentangle® demonstration at our library on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from 2:00-3:15 p.m.
Zentangle® patterns, called tangles, are designs drawn on small (3.5 x 3.5) tiles. Dr. Muscari presents this method step-by-step. The whole process is inexpensive, simple, relaxing, and uses very few materials to complete. Many find the process healing. For others, tangling improves focus and increases confidence. Observers quickly catch on and appreciate the meditative (zen-like) quality that emerges.
Muscari agrees with Zentangle® founders, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, who “believe that life is an art form and that Zentangle is an elegant metaphor for deliberate artistry in life.” For more information, go to this website: zentangle.com. In addition to being an artist, Kathy Muscari is life coach and licensed counselor. She can be reached at 304.410.5294.
