BHS Alumna Chiara Pulice Signs with Pittsburgh-Based Talent Agency, The Talent Group

Chiara Pulice is a third-generation dancer and has always loved the stage and the arts. While attending Bridgeport Middle and High schools, she participated on dance teams and starred in school plays. She’s a past winner of BMS Idol and she has sung at various other school events. She went on to become a four-year member of the West Virginia University dance team – performing at Mountaineer football and basketball teams while earning a degree in corporate communications.

This year, the 2014 BHS alum receives her undergraduate degree and thereafter plans to attend graduate school. Though she’s excited to see where her career field takes her, Pulice continues to be passionate about performing, so she recently decided to explore her options.
Earlier this month, she signed a contract with the Pittsburgh-based talent agency, The Talent Group.

“I’ve always been passionate about acting and theater and over the past four years, I’ve loved being part of the WVU Dance Team. Since I’ll be graduating and wanted to stay involved with the arts, I thought the best way to go about that was to try to get an agent,” she said. “I’ve thought about it a while. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Over spring break, Pulice submitted a photo to The Talent Group, an agency she had previously researched. A representative of the agency thereafter asked Pulice to come to the Pittsburgh office and that interview resulted in a second visit.

“The second time they sent me a script to read on camera and they did some testing and took some photos,” she said. “After the audition process, they told me they wanted to sign me.”

Pulice said she knows of others who have landed some good acting jobs through The Talent Group. Among the wide variety of jobs that could result are acting for TV shows, movies and commercials, as well as modeling, trade shows and promotional events.
“I’m up for anything,” she said.

After grading from BHS, Pulice attended Point Park University in Pittsburgh for a semester, thereafter deciding to transfer to WVU. That was a good decision for her, she said. Because of the transfer, however, she did lose some credits which put her slightly behind in her pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications with an emphasis in public relations. After taking a couple summer classes, she will receive her undergraduate degree – which also includes a minor in sports communications - in August.

“I’ve already been accepted to WVU graduate school to study integrated marketing communications,” she said.

Regarding her career, Pulice said she is keeping her options open.

“I’m definitely interested in the sports and entertainment industry and college athletics,” she said. “I fell in love with the atmosphere of college athletics through the WVU dance team.”

Being part of that performance group has been one of the best experiences of her life, Pulice said, with one memorable highlight being ESPN College Game Day - filmed from the campus during the 2014 WVU football game with Texas Christian University – and the live filming of Brad Paisley’s “Life Amplified World Tour” DVD in December, 2016. Pulice can be seen in the trailer. (Watch HERE.)

With all of that behind her, she looks forward to her journey with The Talent Group and possibly some activity in Pittsburgh.

“Pittsburgh is becoming a huge hub for the cinema industry,” she said. “Because of the setting, they filmed ‘Batman’ there, as well as some other major Hollywood films.”

Pulice is the daughter of Cindy (Timms) and Billy Pulice.
