White Oaks is growing again. And this time, the newest business to announce it is locating there is a first-time business owner as well as the first type of business in the sprawling development just off Interstate 79.

Earlier this week Ron Stanley, the managing member of High Tech Corridor Development, the group responsible for the development of White Oaks announced that a new dental practice will begin operations. The new business will be Rominger Dental.

“We’re very excited about coming to White Oaks,” said Dr. Jaclyn Rominger, who will own and operate the business. “White Oaks seems to be such an up and coming area and to open there seemed to make sense.”

Many in Bridgeport are familiar with Rominger. The Bridgeport resident is a 1999 Bridgeport High School graduate (Jaclyn Elsey) and graduated from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2009.

“Along with being able to open a business in White Oaks, I’m very excited to be opening a business in my hometown,” said Rominger.

Rominger will take ownership of the remaining two spots in the White Oaks Retail Village, which is visible from Jerry Dove Drive. The location is home to several businesses, including McFly Outdoors, Cody’s and the White Oaks Salon. Bonnie Belle’s and Hermosilla’s Deli will soon be opening in the same strip.

“This is a very nice addition to White Oaks in general and the retail village in particular,” said Stanley. “The addition of Rominger Dental adds to the diversity of business that is critical as we continue to develop the park and will provide a service that can be utilized by those working in the park as well as the entire community.”

Rominger will be occupying 3,250 square feet in the building. She said the goal is to be open by fall, preferably sometime in October. While Rominger will go in as a rookie business owner, she won’t go in as a rookie in the dental profession. And she won’t go in with her eyes blind to what being a small business owner is about.

“I’ve been out of school for eight years and practicing for eight years so I decided it was time to make the leap,” said Rominger. “I fully understand the challenges of a small business as (my husband) Johnnie is a business owner (Bad Lizard Granite) and I’ve seen how hard he works.”

Rominger isn’t letting any of that throw her off course of current and future goals. In fact, the square footage she’s taking in is more than she needs. She’s already planning to expand in the future.

“At first, it will be myself and we’ll likely have up-front help at the desk, a hygienist and an assistant,” said Rominger. “The goal is to definitely grow the practice.”

Once the business opens, it will operate daily Monday through Friday. Rominger said she also plans to have one evening with office hours as well.
