Just in time for Christmas, Colleen Driscoll is releasing the latest book in her Piper the Elf series.  “Piper the Elf Rides a Reindeer” will be launched on September 23 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Bridgeport Library with lots of local talent to get people in the holiday mood.

The Bridgeport High School Thespians will kick off the event with a performance of the book at 1:10p.m.  After the interactive performance, the BHS orchestra and the RCB orchestra will in the spotlight.  Bridgeport High School Alumnus Ashley Driscoll and Washington Irving Middle School student Claudia Moore will perform holiday selections on the cello and violin.  Closing out the celebration will be several BHS musicians singing and playing holiday tunes.

Santa and Mrs. Clause are flying in for the special event and will be available for early holiday requests.  The new book will be offered at a discounted price of $15, as will all the books in the Piper the Elf series.

Driscoll incorporates a lesson in each of her Piper stories and the most recent one will teach children about different ways to approach a problem.  The story supports the idea of growth mindset and encourages readers to try their best and not give up.

Piper the Elf is on Facebook and tweets during her free time at the North Pole.  All of the books are available through the author, Amazon, and Headline Books and more information is at cdriscollauthor@yahoo.com or at PipertheElf.com.
