United Way of Harrison County will partner with City Parks of Clarksburg to wind up September with a blaze of fire as they host the very first “Burn in the Burg” chili cookoff. Featuring your homemade chili and local celebrity judges, Mike Carey, Joe Mazzulla and Jarrod West, the event will be held 3:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Clarksburg Amphitheatre at Veterans Memorial Park. Amateurs can enter for $35 and professionals for $50 each. First place will receive a $500 cash prize. Members of the public can attend for a $20 admission cost which includes tasting privileges and access to live entertainment, craft vendors and children’s activities. Held in conjunction with the chili cookoff will be a cornhole tournament and bocce ball tournament. More information on all events can be found at www.unitedwayhcwv.org.
