Board members from the Cultural Foundation of Harrison County presented the Robinson Grand’s Executive Director, Ryan Tolley, with a generous pledge to the theater’s capital campaign. This presentation took place at the Cultural Foundation’s monthly board meeting, which was held at the Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library on Monday, April 9, 2018.

 

The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County has donated $50,000 to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. This contribution will help to complete the renovation efforts and provide operational funding for the theater. The Cultural Foundation has a long-standing history of supporting the theater’s renovation and re-opening. In late 2015 the Cultural Foundation chose to partner with the Robinson Grand on accepting, managing, and dispersing capital campaign contributions. This partnership is highly beneficial to the theater’s endeavors and has allowed for major fundraising efforts.

 

Additionally, the Cultural Foundation has selected the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center to host their 2018-2019 Grand Performance Series. Aptly named, the series will display a select number of diverse performances throughout the year. 

 

“The Cultural Foundation is extremely excited about this project,” said Phil Wyatt, President of the Cultural Foundation of Harrison County. “Our main goals are to fund and advocate for community enrichment through arts and cultural opportunities. We cannot think of a better partnership to assist with achieving these key objectives.”

Not only have they pledged a financial contribution, but they have also provided instrumental support as our non-profit partner for fundraising. We are also excited to host their Grand Performance Series for the 2018-2019 season,” said Ryan Tolley, Executive Director of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center. “I have had the great pleasure to work alongside this organization for the last eight months and cannot say enough great things about their initiatives and leadership. They are a true asset to our community.”

 

The mission of The Cultural Foundation of Harrison County is to foster an art-rich environment, and to encourage the development and appreciation of all art forms, while promoting the growth and expansion of artistic, cultural, and economic development within the region. They were established in 1972 to receive bequests, grants, financial gifts, and other items of cultural and historic value. The Robinson Grand is one of North Central West Virginia’s largest economic development projects. Located in Clarksburg’s Central Business District, the center is undergoing a $15 million renovation and restoration. It is expected to open in early August 2018.
