Time Travel: Two Bridgeport Lumber Companies Side by Side in 1988 and Look at Old Westover Bridge

By Dick Duez on April 15, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Individuals can Johnson Avenue back in 1988 when there was no Johnson Plaza and Bauer Lumber sat on the spot before the plaza and prior to it burning down and now the home of Dan Cava's Used Car World. You can also see the old Lodgeville Road and at the top of the photo you can see very little development along Tolley Drive. On the lower left portion earth is being moved for what may be the Go-Mart gas station, although that is not certain. At this time, Interstate 79 was still two lanes as well.
This bridge may not look familiar to everyone, but it is the old Westover Bridge back when it was not only operational, but had some thriving business located at one end of it. This photo is from 1960.
