Second Annual Women's Faith Conference in City of Bridgeport Approaching; Registration Now Open

Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Take the first step in faith.  You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” When Ginny Vincent and Jill Steele started planning their first Women’s Faith Conference last year, that’s just what they did.  At that time, they had no concrete guarantee that the conference would be a success. What they did have was faith, and, in the end, that proved to be more than enough.

More than 400 women from 96 different churches attended last year after the duo followed a calling to create a faith conference for women.   The Inaugural conference was open to every woman and every denomination, with speakers who inspired, encouraged and empowered the participants.

When it came to planning this year’s event, the planning team used the same strategy they did last year:  pray and wait.  And the answer, once again, came through clearly and with divine inspiration.

“This year, we are having A Resurrection Celebration for Women on Saturday, April 29 at the Bridgeport Conference Center,” said Co-Creator Jill Steele.  “Basing the theme around John 4:29, we are providing a place where women can refuel, refocus, and recommit to their walk with Christ.”

Like last year, the day will begin at 8:00a.m. with registration, followed by Praise and Worship, and Welcoming comments.  Nayomi Thomas will host the opening session at 9:30 with her unique testimonial as a mother, a writer and singer. She makes the gospel come alive with relatable stories of her own experiences with God’s grace and following his teachings through challenging times as well as times of praise.

Pat Farrell of Faith House will also be returning this year, combining her stories of humor, hope and healing while engaging the attendees in edge-of –the-seat ways to put their faith into action.

Lunch is included in the $50 registration fee, followed by worship led by Lawanda Kent, coming all the way from Georgia.  The afternoon session will begin with Susan Pettrey, who grew up attending her father’s church, the Brooklyn Tabernacle.  She has continued to use her gifts to serve, sing and lead in the church and is now the Director of Women’s Ministries.

Following Pettrey’s testimony, the group will join in Communion and prayer as the close the conference.

“We are looking forward to seeing God work through the gifts of all that attend and demonstrate his faithfulness, giving us time to fellowship and lift each other up as we forge friendships in the sisterhood of Christ,” said Steele.

Registration is currently open for the conference.  Email jill@steelefaith.com for additional information and questions.
