Chilean Rose, Pinktoe and Cobalt Blue: Variety of Furry Tarantulas Visit Little Explorers

Dave McClung was a popular guest at Thursday’s Little Explorer session at Benedum Civic Center. An employee of Eastern Pet Supply, McClung brought along with him some of the retailer’s furriest tarantulas: A Pinktoe, two Chilean Rose and a Cobalt Blue. The young science enthusiasts were quite inquisitive, many eager to hold the tarantulas and others preferring to watch from a distance. The visit wrapped up Bridgeport Parks and Recreation’s Little Explorers unit on insects and bugs. The class, which is taught at the Civic Center on a regular basis, is taught by Anita Jesmer.
