Flu's Sturdi-Built Chooses Bridgeport for Fourth West Virginia Location

With locations in Morgantown, Fairmont and Parkersburg, Flu’s Sturdi-Built has opened a fourth West Virginia location in Bridgeport.
Within the past week, several models of the company’s Amish-built storage buildings have been moved into a lot along Route 50 beside Speedway. One of the buildings serve as an office where Sales Manager Kevin Uebel will conduct business via appointment. Based on previous inquiries, the new location should be successful.

“We do a lot of sales online, including Facebook and we get a lot of requests from people in the Bridgeport area wanting to see the buildings but not wanting to drive to Fairmont or Morgantown,” Uebel said.

The property along Route 50, which Flu’s Sturdi-Built is leasing, seemed ideal.

The buildings are available in a wide variety of models, sizes, colors and with various amenities, Uebel said. They are constructed in Thurman, Ohio by Amish builders.

“We have tons of color options and you can also choose vinyl siding,” Uebel said. “You can buy a building off the lot or special order.”
Standard models are delivered within two weeks. The company offers free delivery within a 25-mile radius of its stores.

Although the majority of purchasers use the buildings for storage – many times for motorcycles and other boy toys – but it’s not uncommon to utilize them as cabins.

“We actually sold two this week for hunters’ cabins,” he said. “We have cabins that you could fully live in – that are fully insulated with showers and toilets.”

Buildings with those type of specifications take longer to complete. The buildings start at $1,690 and some of the loaded cabins cost up to $25,000.

With spring approaching, Flu’s Sturdi-Built is entering its busy season. The other busiest season for sales is fall.

Flu’s Sturdi-Built is a new West Virginia business; all three other locations established within the past year. The Fairmont store was the first and the others followed suit; all being quite successful, Uebel said. The Fairmont store also carries used and new furniture, tools and guns.

All structures are built 16 inch on center on studs and come with a 50-year warranty on siding and floor and 40 years on the roof.
Flu’s Sturdi-Built offers rent-to-own financing.

“And we believe in what we sell,” Uebel said.

Those interested in making an appointment to see the buildings can call 304-299-2975.
