"Hoops Green" of the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters brought Johnson Elementary School a St. Patrick's Day treat. The student body - which was a sea of green - gathered in the school cafeteria where Hoops talked about her team's "ABCs of Bullying Prevention” program. The program was designed in coordination with the National Campaign to Stop Violence to help reduce bullying and violence among youth in schools and communities.

The interactive program focused on Action, Bravery and Compassion, comprising the ABCs. The Globetrotters’ signature ball-handling skills were incorporated to provide a fun and informative presentation.

Student and faculty volunteers assisted Hoops with both her message about anti-bullying and learned some hoops tricks which brought big applause from the audience.

Hoops will also bring the Globetrotters’ Smile Patrol – the team’s proprietary hospital outreach program designed to brighten the day and lift spirits of fans unable to attend games - to WVU Medicine Children’s at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

The Harlem Globetrotters bring their spectacular 2017 World Tour to the WVU Coliseum Wed., April 5. The show begins at 7 p.m. Read more HERE.
