Section of U.S. Route 50 West in Harrison County Closing for Repairs; Allow for Additional Travel Time

The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that there will be a Road Closure on US 50 Westbound at the Downtown Salem Exit today - Tuesday, March 13 - beginning at noon and running through 6 p.m.  
 
The Downtown Salem Exit (Westbound will be open). U.S. Route 50 both Westbound lanes will be closed. U.S. 50 Eastbound lane will be open. The Downtown Salem Exit will be open to detour traffic. 
 
The exit ramp has a lane restriction of 16 feet.  All super/wide loads will NOT be allowed to use the Downtown Salem Exit to detour through the City of Salem.   
 
The purpose for the closure is an emergency deck repair on U.S. 50 Westbound lanes. 
 
Please note that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.  Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute.
