By Dick Duez on July 22, 2018 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Any of these young ladies look familiar? There is probably more than one person you recognize. This is a photo of the Bridgeport American Youth Football Cheerleaders. The group won a regional title and then went on to compete in a national event. Shown front row, from left, are Marissa Spatafore, Jackie Kapp, Logan Bryant, Corey Phillips, Sarah Jafri and Brianna Davis. Second row, from left, shows Lindsey Compton, Sarah Hoover, Shylin Irwin, Brianna Oliverio and Whitney Andrew. Third row, from left, are Susie Gorby, Jessica Candell, Victoria Gorby, Kylie Kiefer, Megan Cunningham, Felicia Bryant and Kristi Kiefer.
Many decades ago, the glass industry was booming in West Virginia and Harrison County and Clarksburg were no exception. Shown here is Art Markham who worked at more of one of those plants. He was the last president of the WGCL of America Union. This photo is from 1971 and, ironically, you can see the Rolland Glass Plant in the background from the Adamston plant where Markham is working.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
"Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
