Time Travel: Early Easy Street from 1961 and Going to the 1920s to a Tire Shop Located in Grafton

By Dick Duez on July 08, 2018 from History Blog

If this doesn't look familiar, there's a reason for it.This is the entrance to Easy Street in 1961 as residential development was beginning to take off in the city. This is the view of the road coming off of Johnson Avenue.
This is a photo of a tire shop in Grafton in the 1920 and, as you can tell, the tires look nothing like they do today. Doesanyone know who is shown in the photo? If so, comment below. The business was beside the railroad station and the Willard Hotel was situated to the left.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
"Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
