Time Travel: Going Back to Sayer's Gas Station in 1954 and Clarksburg's Pike Street, Main Street Merge

By Dick Duez on January 21, 2018 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This is a photo from the Sayers Gas station back in 1954 across from what is today the Main Street Dairy Queen and a city owned parking lot. Anyone recall this or who is pictured? Please feel free to comment below.
This photo from decades ago shows the intersection of Main Street and Pike Street in Clarksburg with a prominent advertistement of the Ellis Drive In shown. Below it, on the far right, it talks about the restaurant being air conditioned, which was a big deal at the time.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
"Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
