Time Travel: The Late Father Charles Carroll and Going Back to when Clarksburg's Glen Elk was Booming

By Dick Duez on September 03, 2017 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The late Charles R. Carroll, who served Bridgeport's All Saints Catholic Church for decades, is shown being visited by local women from Bridgeport at his retirement home in Wheeling. Anyone know the ladies that are pictured? If so, add their names in the comment section below.
This photo is from 1917 in Glen Elk and shows just how busy that section of Clarksburg was after the turn of the century. The depot shown is still there today and is actively used by CSX.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
"Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
