On Wednesday, long-time City of Bridgeport employee Dale Shields was laid to rest at the Bridgeport Cemetery. The 37-year member of the city staff who retired as the Superintendent of Public Works made his final journey.
This video, courtesy of the Bridgeport Police Department, was shot from the dashboard camera system in the vehicle of Sgt. Scott Carpenter, who led the funeral procession from Virginia Avenue to the cemetery. Deputy Chief Randy Hartley was behind him.
Please go to the 2:25 mark of the video, which is where the journey begins. Note the side streets that are blocked for city workers and former colleagues of Shields during the procession.
