Two Bridgeport High School golfers – brothers, in fact – were included in a trio of players who tied for low medalist honors in Wednesday’s area high school golf match at Stonewall Resort.
Shooting a 39 were BHS senior Austin Williams, freshman Mason Williams and East Fairmont’s Brennan Vincent. Just three strokes behind was Marco Oliverio with a 42 with James Goots following with a 45.
BHS won the match with a score of 155. Following were East Fairmont with 164 and Lewis County with 207.
“They did well,” said Coach Fred Wilhelm. “Stonewall is a tough course and it’s a nine-hole match so they don’t have very much room for errors.”
Despite the challenge which a nine-hole match presents, it’s good preparation for the season, Wilhelm said.
The team faces Preston County and Grafton in today’s 4 p.m. match at Bridgeport Country Club.

Actually this is incorrect. Bridgeport High School shot a 165 to lose by 1 stroke to East Fairmont High School.
