According to this report from MetroNews, a fire that claimed three lives in Braxton County was still smoldering Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The blaze was first reported at just after 7:30 a.m. at a house along state Route 4 near Gassaway. Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office said three people were killed and two others seriously injured. The bodies of one of the victims was recovered from the debris Thursday afternoon.
The two survivors are being treated the Pittsburgh burn center. In addition, there were two other family members that remain unaccounted for Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
