A working structure fire on Pallet Street, just off Brushy Fork, brought out a trio of fire departments, including Bridgeport units.

Bridgeport Fire Department arrived shortly after 6:45 a.m., discovering flames at the structure, the former Woodson Pallet Company located next to the Verizon building on Brushy Fork, just outside of Anmoore.

Bridgeport Fire Chief Phil Hart said the fire is suspicious in nature.

“They were tearing this building down and there were no utilities hooked up or anything,” he said.

Bridgeport Fire Department, which responded in mutual aid, worked for about an hour, along with Stonewood and Nutter Fort departments. Also responding was Anmoore EMS. There were no transports or injuries associated with the fire, Hart said.
