Although details are limited, Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker has confirmed that a suspect is in custody involving an incident that took place this morning at the Clarksburg CJIS FBI facility.

Bridgeport Police teamed with the FBI Police to make the arrest of a male subject.

“We have very limited information at the moment,” said Walker. “We were called in for an accident at the FBI site. We’re not sure if he ran through the gate or ran the gate at the main entrance (off of Jerry Dove Drive), but he left the car and fled on foot into the woods.”

At that time, the search was on for the subject. Bridgeport Police joined other law enforcement agencies in the hunt for the suspect.

Walker said at 9:20 a.m. that “we just captured him” and was leading the suspect out of a wooded area. Walker said Bridgeport Police apprehended the individual without incident.

The suspect in question was a black male. Walker said at this time there is no further information, but he believes the FBI will be handling the investigation as to what transpired.

“The suspect in question was captured in the woods behind Dick’s Sports goods,” said Walker.

FBI Police, Clarksburg Fire Department, Bridgeport Fire Department's ambulance were also on the scene.

FBI Police and Bridgeport Police also teamed up to make the arrest on a female suspect that was announced by the FBI. The Harrison County Sheriff's Department with Sgt. Curt Diaz and Deputy Wesley Harkins were on the scene with K-9 Gotchi.

At 1:10 p.m., the FBI's Pittsburgh Office released the following statement:

"At approximately 8 this morning, a vehicle with two people inside ran through the West Gate at CJIS and was pursued by FBI Police. The vehicle crashed over the hill and both suspects took off on foot. The female was arrested near the scene. The male was arrested by Bridgeport Police. At this time, there are believed to be no ties to terrorism. FBI Pittsburgh SAC Jones commends the work of the FBI Police and Bridgeport Police who helped take the suspects into custody quickly. There were no injuries and the investigation is continuing."

Although the FBI directed inquiries of the suspects detained to the office of Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney, Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker provided the name of the male suspect. Oneil Wayne South, 44, of Fairmont. The female's name is Samantha McDaniels, age and address unknown.
