Bridgeport Police Respond to Friday Evening Stabbing

Bridgeport Police responded to a stabbing call Friday night on Mesa Drive. According to the Harrison County 911 Media log, the call came in at 11:24 p.m.
 
Chief John Walker said Bridgeport Police arrested 21-year-old Mallary Anne Matheny as the result of the situation involving her stabbing a man at the residence. Matheny is charged with domestic battery second offense as a result of the incident..
 
“The initial report is that the man was in bed and (Matheny) went in with a butter knife in her waist band and pulled it out,” said Walker. “From there, she stabbed him twice in the face and once in the ankle. None of the injuries were of the life-threatening variety.”
 
Walker said the male that was stabbed refused medical transport.
 
Matheny, said Walker, was transported to the North Central Regional Jail. As of 11:45 a.m. today (Jan. 12, 2019) she was still in custody.
 
The Bridgeport Police Department is handling the investigation.
