Community members are planning a “Family Night” to show support and raise funds for Bridgeport resident Justin Bishop.

Bishop is the highly respected and popular family man who coaches youth sports in the city. He also is currently battling a form of cancer known as Ewing Sarcoma, a very rare type of cancerous tumor that grows in your bones or soft tissue around your bones.

As Bishop is currently undergoing treatments, friends have organized an event for Thursday, Dec. 7 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in downtown Clarksburg. The “Family Night” will be held at My Little Cupcake situated at 331 West Main Street.

The event will have live music, pizza and drinks, sweets from My Little Cupcakes and activities for children. Among the activities will be Christmas ornament decorations.

Admission to the event is free. The group will be accepting donations to assist the family as Justin continues his treatment.

Organizers say parking is free in downtown Clarksburg at metered spots after 4 p.m.
