This summer's second Dive-In Movie Night at Bridgeport Pool is Friday.

"This month’s movie will be 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,'" said Katie Squires, recreation coordinator.

The movie night is held in conjunction with family night, which runs 6:30-8:30 p.m. The movie will begin at dusk - between 8:30 and 8:45.

"Guests are welcome to bring rafts and float in the pool while enjoying the movie," Squires said.

Price of admission is $3 for all ages – the regular pool rate for family night swim. The movie will be projected on the city’s inflatable 16-20-foot screen, viewable from the pool. The pool concession stand will be open with everything from pepperoni rolls and chips to candy and ice cream treats available for purchase.

The 2017-released “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” stars Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson. The flick tells the story of some high school kids who discover an old video game console and find themselves transformed into the adult avatars in the game. They quickly learn that it’s not a game to just be played, but also to be survived. Dangerous adventure follows, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. Other actors featured are Karen Gillan, Rhys Darby, Bobby Cannavale and Nick Jonas, among others. The film is rated PG-13 for adventure action, suggestive content and some language.

Parks and Recreation Director Joe Shuttleworth said his department is always pleased to offer Dive-In Movie Night.

“We like these types of family-oriented programs that bring people out to enjoy themselves with their friends and neighbors,” Shuttleworth said. “They represent the smalltown sense of community that we are all about.”

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled, Squires said. Held in July, the city's first Dive-In Movie Night for Summer 2018 was a success. The pool was packed with community members who enjoyed watching the family-friendly animated movie, "Sing."
