Indians Pre-Game Football Hype Video Ready to Go for 2017 Season with Theme of "We're Still Here"

Come Friday night, the Bridgeport High School football team will kick off the home portion of their 2017 season with a game against Class AAA state-ranked Wheeling Park. And as has become a tradition during the last few years, it will also mark the on-screen unveiling of the Indians’ pre-game hype video.

While you can take it in on the big-screen tomorrow, you can get a sneak preview of the video here. Once again, Bridgeport High School alum Luke Nesler – who owns and operates Impakt Media out of Morgantown – produced and did the film.

The theme for 2017 is a simple one – “We’re Still Here.” Although not mentioned in the video, it is the vibe Nesler hoped to give the players, the fans of the Indians as well as those visiting Wayne Jamison Field for Friday night ball games.

“They didn’t make it to the (Class AA) championship game for first time in four years in 2016 and some may now count them out and think that they had their three-year run so it’s over. We wanted to show the hard work involved that will let everyone know that they’re still here,” said Nesler.

The video will be shown prior to the Indians taking the field before kickoff. Nesler, who did the previous two pre-game videos, said this one is a little bit different than those in the past.

“We wanted to not show as much old footage and highlights, but focus more on the intensity that the seniors bring to the program. The video primarily keys in on them even though we do include some highlight shots in the video,” said Nesler. “The goal was to mix things up and still show the passion and intensity things guys bring to the field. How they get there is often overlooked and we hope this does it.”

Although Nesler’s Impakt Media does multiple shots for local, state, national and international clients, the BHS video is the only one Nesler directly handles. The 2007 BHS graduate who started on Bruce Carey’s 2006 squad, said the video work was about a three-week process.

“We did the film shooting at the field on one day, used the highlights WDTV was gracious enough to provide and sat down and brainstormed what we wanted to do,” said Nesler. “From there we edited it together with the audio and music and got the final piece.”

Nesler, a 2012 West Virginia University graduate, is pleased with the final produce. He hopes the players and fans like it as well.

“I played football there and each year I’ve done this I ask myself if this is a video that would get me pumped up and it does. Actually, this was the most pumped up I’ve gotten of the ones I’ve done,” said Nesler. “I’m getting older, but I felt like I was ready to play again and run through a wall. We hope everyone that sees it knows it’s time to play football and the Indians are ready to play; just like they always are.”
