June Jett of UHC Talks with BHS Students About Nursing Profession Options

On Wednesday, Feb. 22, June Jett, a nursing recruiter for United Hospital Center, presented all phases of the nursing profession to Bridgeport High juniors and seniors. Jett explained the difference in a typical day and the work responsibilities of two-year RN, four-year RN. LPN, Nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist and travel nurse. The open job market was a big point of discussion as she presented typical salaries one could expect at each level. The event was coordinated by BHS Junior/Senior Counselor Jane Byrd, who said Jett even talked with the students about hiring procedures for United Hospital Center and the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.
