By Ben Queen Photography Staff on July 11, 2019 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Family and friends gathered for what turned out to be a quick meeting of Bridgeport City Council Monday at the Bridgeport Municipal Complex.

The highlight of the meeting was the swearing in of the new City Council that will be in place for the next two years until the 2021 city election. Newcomer Don Burton along with incumbents Jeff Smell and Dr. Harry M. "Hank" Murray were sworn in by Bridgeport resident and Harrison County Circuit Judge Chris McCarthy.

Burton and Smell are both serving four year terms on Council. Murray will serve the next four years as city recorder.
