By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on July 17, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

UPDATE: Bridgeport City Clerk Andrea Kerr said Tuesday's presentation by Luke Nesler/Impakt Marketing on expanding business brand through social media is still open for attendance by area business representatives. Registration information follows this original Connect-Bridgeport post:

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Virginia District Office and the West Virginia Small Business Development Centers are excited to kick off the “Shop Small in July” campaign.

Starting in July small businesses are encouraged to call the WV SBDC Business Ask Me! Line at 888-WVA-SBDC to request “Support Small Business Cards”. From July through Small Business Saturday in November small businesses are encouraged to ask their customers to sign the “Support Small Business Cards” to pledge their support to shop small. Businesses then display the cards as a visual reminder to customers on how important it is to the West Virginia economy to shop small. Help spread the word by using #ShopSmallWV.

The SBA has several  free training opportunities available for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and their employees to learn how to better market their products and services. One of the events will be here in Bridgeport and will feature Bridgeport High School alum Luke Nesler of Morgantown's Impakt Marketing.

Nesler will be talking about how to expand your brand on social media. The free event takes place at the Bridgeport Municipal Complex on July 18 (Tuesday) from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
