Tuesday, Bridgeport Police was dispatched to an 11:40 a.m. traffic accident on East Main Street. It happened, said Police Sgt. C.W. Barto, in the eastbound lane just in front of Domino’s Pizza.

“It was a minor, rear-end type of collision,” he said. “A guy was sitting in traffic caused by the stoplight at Rt. 50 and Rt. 131 and his foot slipped off the clutch, causing his truck to lunge forward and hitting a Nissan Rogue.”

Occupants of the SUV and the truck, a Ford F150, refused medical treatment and both vehicles could be driven from the scene, Barto said.
The accident itself did not cause any traffic delays.

“Both vehicles were moved out of the roadway when I got there,” Barto said. “Traffic kept on moving.”
