West Virginia Jazz Society Autumn Season Begins with Acoustic Quartet Veronneau at Mia Margherita

West Virginia Jazz Society’s Autumn Season of performances begins Saturday, August 18, in Bridgeport with an appearance by international acoustic quartet, Veronneau, in Mia Margherita Coal Fired Pizzeria’s private dining/music room.
 
The Washington, DC-based ensemble is led by vocalist, Lynn Veronneau, a native of Montreal, who is joined by guitarist and vocalist, Ken Avis, from near Liverpool, England, and guitarist, David Rosenblatt, a native of Brazil.  The drummer and percussionist is Bruno Lucini, also from Brazil,
           
Their show is a blend of bossa nova, jazz, samba, swing and acoustic music performed in English, French, Spanish and Portugese. Kennedy Center, Strathmore, The Hamilton Hotel and Blues Alley.
         
Veronneau will perform 90-min sets at 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for dining. Additional performances scheduled for the WVJS Autumn Season are:  Decon Blues in Bridgeport on Thursday, August 23; Mark Cappellini’s Jazz Italiano in Clarksburg at Washington Square on August 24, and in Morgantown at the Marriott Hotel on Saturday, August 25; Brian Wolfe in a venue to be determined on Sunday, September 16.
         
The Series continues with Sean Nowell & The Kung Fu Masters on Friday, October 19, in Bridgeport, and on Saturday, October 20, in El Gran Sabor in Elkins; The SHEroes in Bridgeport on Sunday, October 28; East Of Hollywood and The Grey Agents on November 10 in the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg, and the Holiday Jazz Stroll on December 8 in Clarksburg.
  
The August 25 performance by Mark Cappellini’s Jazz Italiano in Bourbon Prime, the high end restaurant and lounge in the Waterfront Marriott Hotel in Morgantown, will be the first in a series of special jazz performances scheduled by WVJS and the hotel.
