We are heading into the last weeks of summer, but there is still time enough to read some of the favorite books of the season.  We have most of these books in both book and eBook form.

Elin Hilderbrand’s “Summer of ‘69” follows a group of women dealing with the dramatic changes of the sixties with the women’s movement and the Vietnam War.  “Montauk” by Nichola Harrison is set in another time on the cusp of major change; set in 1938, the wealthy are vacationing in Long Island where the husbands’ return to the City to work during the week and the wives are busy with their society friends.

“Whisper Network” by Chandler Baker is a novel that focuses on the changing world women face in the corporate workplace.  “Ask Again, Yes” by Mary Beth Keane follows two neighbors “whose lives are forever changed by tragedy, love, and circumstance.”   This book is getting loads of positive reviews and reader comments.

“Never Have I Ever” by Joshilyn Jackson concerns one person who may have ulterior moments and loads of secrets as she tries to find a place in her community, secrets that others may be willing to pay any price to keep quiet.

“Evvie Drake Starts Over” by Linda Holmes is another one of the books that everyone is talking about this summer.  Readers are gushing over its combination of humor, family drama, romance and friendship.   Another fun romance for the summer is Abbi Waxman’s “The Bookish Life of Nina Hill” whose quiet life is disturbed when she discovers the identity of her father and the new family that she is not sure she wants.

“The Flight Girls” by Noelle Salazar is a historical novel about a group of women pilots during World War II.  “City of Girls” by Elizabeth Gilbert is also set in World War II but follows one young woman’s life among the rich and famous of New York City set against the real-life circumstances of the war.

Some other books to put on your reading list are: “A Stranger on the Beach” by Michele Campbell, “The Other Mrs. Miller” by Allison Dickson, “The Guest Book” by Sarah Baker, “The Bride Test” by Helen Hoang, “The Chain” by Adrian McKinty, “Sorcery of Thorns” by Margaret Rogerson, “Girls Like Us” by Cristina Alger, “The Unhoneymooners” by Christina Lauren, “A Nearly Normal Family” by M.
