It is hard to believe, but the summer reading program is in its last week. There are still programs scheduled for this week, and readers have a few more days to add items to their book logs. Of course, just because the summer reading program is over, does not mean there is still a not a lot of hot muggy days to enjoy sitting with a book. And many people still have vacation planned when they finally have time to read.
“After Hours Glow in the Dark Nerf Battle” was held Monday, July 15/ Participants used their sills to evade capture at this lights-out nerf battle after hours.
On Tuesday, at noon, children between the ages of 9 and 12 participateed in the “Rock N-Roll Mystery Theater” at 12 noon. Children had pre-assigned roles and wore costumes.
“Spidersona” takes place on Thursday, July 18 at 6 p.m. Participants will learn how to create their own spidersona with graphic designer Kelsey Musgrave. This program is for children ages 4-12. Registration is required.
And on Friday, July 19 from noon – 7 p.m. is our grand finale. This year it is a LibraryCon; vendors will be set up throughout the library, offering an assortment of different activities, information, and projects.
Other programs are continuing throughout the month, so please pick up a handout at the library or google our website for a calendar. Also, the handout, BookRead is available free of charge at both circulation desks. It contains dozens of recommended new books out each month and is a great place to get ideas for the rest of your summer reading.
