Off the Shelf: Tax Forms and Booklets, Upcoming Renovations, and Event Changes

By Sharon Saye on February 21, 2018 from Off the Shelf via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The library currently has federal tax forms 1040 and 1040EZ as well as the instruction booklets for 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ.  We have been notified that the forms 1040A have just been shipped and should arrive shortly.  We do not have any of the other publications.  You need to call the IRS or print off the forms from their website.

We have an ample supply of West Virginia state tax booklets.  The state includes the forms and the instructions in one booklet.  Please only take what you need.  The forms are limited and difficult to re-order.

Renovations should start some time in March.  We are hoping to keep the times we must close to a minimum so please watch the website and this column.

March programs are affected by these renovations, but certain core programs such as Story Time and the reading groups will continue in various parts of the library.  Story Time continues at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays and Books and Barks in which children read to trained therapy dogs meets on the first Saturday of the month from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Because the number of dogs available is limited registration is required.

Colorful Yarns will be meeting on Tuesdays, March 13 and March 27 at 6:30 p.m.  It enables community members interested in knitting or crochet or needlepoint to attend meetings to share ideas.  Bring your current project to craft with fellow fiber enthusiasts.  There will be eReader Workshops on March 7 and March 20 at 2 p.m.  Registration is required and bring you device to learn how to download eBooks, eAudiobooks, and digital magazines from the library for free.

The Read in Red book group will meet on Friday, March 16 at 12 p.m. to discuss the mystery “Red Ribbons” by Louise Phillips.  Book Talk meets on Wednesday, March 21 at 4 p.m. to discuss “The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared” by Jonas Jonasson.  Copies of each book are available but limited.  Both book groups welcome new members.

Teens are still meeting on Mondays, but a little earlier in the day at 3 p.m.  Monday, March 5, they will play Rummikub, on March 12, Dungeon, and on March 19, Clue.  The reading selection for Teen Read is “Asking for it” by Louise O’Neill and discussion is scheduled for Monday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m.  To borrow a copy of the book, please see Sarah at the library.
