Bridgeport Parks and Recreation encourage locals to take advantage of the summer tennis camps, coordinated by Kyle Hoffman of the United States Tennis Association.

 

Camp dates are June 19-21, June 26-28, July 10-12, July 17-19, July 31-Aug. 2 and Aug. 7-9. Rain makeups will be coordinated with coaches as appropriate.

 

Those 4-7 years old will meet from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Those 8-10 years old will meet from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Those 11-14 years old will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

 

Cost is $30 per week with discounts for an additional week of instruction.

 

Held at Deegan Lakes tennis courts, the summer clinic is built around specific instruction for students to help them learn and develop motor skills, master technique and understand the basics of tennis. The clinics follow the USTA progression model for childhood development.

 

Formerly with the Fairmont State tennis program, Hoffman is two-time Mountain East Conference men's tennis coach of the year.
