The pool pass photo process is iup and running at Benedum Civic Center and familes are starting to trickle in to get set for the summer swim season. 

 

"And with several days of warmer weather, it will probably start picking up," said Michelle Leonard of Bridgeport Parks and Recreation. 

 

Stop in the Civic Center office to purchase a season pass. Once information is collected and season pass fees are paid, photos will be taken. It's not necessary, Leonard said, for all members of a family to get photos taken at the same time. Pool passes can be printed on the spot. 

 

Director of Parks and Recreation Joe Shuttleworth encourages families and individuals who plan to purchase passes to do so before the pool opens for the season. Individual pool passes range from $85 to $115 and family passes range from $110 to $160, depending upon size of family and place of residence. 

 

Stop in the Civic Center office between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Reach the office by telephone by calling 304-842-8240. 

 

The pool opens at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 26. Admission is free for the annual Splash Day. The pool will be open Sunday and Monday, May 27-28 and thereafter on weekends until school is out for the summer.

 

General admission is $3.50 for children ages 3-11, $4.50 for ages 12 through adult and $3.50 for seniors age 55 and over. On family nights, everyone will be admitted for $3.

 

This summer will feature a pair of "Dive-In Movie" events at Bridgeport Pool: A July 13 showing of "Sing" and an Aug. 10 showing of "Jumanji." Movies will be projected on a large 16x20-foot screen. Normal pool rates apply. The pool opens at 7 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk, around 9 p.m. Pool rafts and floats can be used for movie time viewing.
