Bridgeport used a huge first half and a big game by Emily Riggs to get past Roane County by a 67-45 score at Buckhannon-Upshur High School and earn a trip back  to Charleston for the Class AA state tournament.

Riggs finished the contest with a career-high 37 points. Of that total, 26 came in the first half.

In fact, the Indians led 19-5 after one period and extended the lead to 39-22 at the intermission. What that meant was that Riggs had managed to outscore the opposition in the first two quarters of play.

The win by Bridgeport moves the Tribe to 18-7 on the year. RCHS ends its sesason at 15-11.

Bridgeport earned the No. 4 seed in the tournament. The Indians will play the final game of the first round games Wednesday against No. 5 Frankfort. The Falcons are also 18-7.

Lincoln also made the field. The No 7 Cougars (15-9) will play Wednesday at 1 p.m. against Wyoming East (20-3).

North Marion is the No. 1 team in the field.
