The Knights of Columbus Council #872 along with the Harrison County Parks and Recreation will host the Sectional Qualifier of the K of C Free Throw Competition this coming Sunday, February 10, at the Johnson Elementary School gymnasium.

This free competition is open to kids between the ages of 9 to 14 years of age. Winners in each age division will move on to district competition in the coming weeks.

“We have had good turnouts in the past and we are hoping that the consistency of attendance remains the same for this year’s event,” said Recreation Specialist Jack Cann. “We have worked with the Knights of Columbus on generating participation by marketing through our current programs and those we partner with like Clarksburg Jerry West. It is a free event to those who participate and we encourage everyone eligible to attend.”

Event registration will begin at 1  p.m. at the gymnasium and competition will follow immediately. The organization will provide basketballs and all other necessities for the event.  They ask that the participants wear the normal attire for basketball.  Winners and participants will receive a certificate and be prepared for group pictures following the competition.

For information, please contact Jack Cann at 304-423-7800.
