Jevon Carter Out Indefinitely for Memphis as Former WVU Standout Needs Surgery to Repair Thumb

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on August 10, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

According to this report from Clutchpoints.com, Memphis Grizzlies second-round pick Jevon Carter is out indefinitely after suffering a freak hand injury in a recent workout, according to Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com.

That Carter is required to go under the knife to fix the injury highly suggests that the rookie will be out for a significant amount of time. The Grizzlies have yet to release a timetable for Carter, but he’s likely going to be sidelined for weeks. Perhaps the best the Grizzlies could hope for is that the pesky guard out of West Virginia will be ready once the 2018-19 season kicks off this October.
