Lackluster Start Leads to Kansas Sacking Charlie Weis; Owed $7 Million
By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 29, 2014
West Virginia University's Big 12 Conference home football game this Saturday with Kansas won't be featuring something it's featured the first two years of the series - Coach Charlie Weis.
On Sunday, Weis was fired by the Jayhawks. The dismissal comes after a 23-0 loss in Lawrence to Texas. Weiss laves with a 6-22 oaverall record and a 1-18 mark in the league - that one win came last year against the Mountaineers.
Clint Bowen, the defensive coordinator, has been named interim head coach. Weis will still be paid $7 million he is owed on his contract.
