Bridgeport High School won its first match at the WVSSAC, Class AA Volleyball Championships in Charleston this morning, claiming a win against Nitro High School in three straight sets. The Lady Indians had no trouble defeating the Wildcats, claiming the sets 25-9, 25-14 and 25-13.

 

Coach Ali Burton said her girls came out with plenty of energy and determination and are now focusing on the next match, which will be played at 6:30 p.m. against Independence. IHS beat Oak Glen ithis morning to advance to the semifinals. A win tonight would place the Tribe in tomorrow's final match.
