Bridgeport’s quest for a fifth-straight state title remained alive as it was able to hold off a huge challenge from James Monroe in the Class AA semifinals Friday afternoon at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston by a 4-3 score.
Victory came with a win in the bottom of the seventh inning as the top-seeded Indians broke a 3-3 tie. Freshman Ryan Goff’s two-out RBI single proved to be the game-winner for the Indians.
