WVU Football Team Loses Student-Athlete Who may have Figured into Playing Time for 2018 Season

According to this report from MetroNews, Australian punter Angus Davies has left the West Virginia football program after only a few days on campus.

A source said Davies quickly became homesick and wouldn’t rejoin the team.

Davies later tweeted:

“It comes with great regret that I have passed up the opportunity to study and play football at West Virginia University. With the support of WVU, ProKick Australia, and my family, I have come home to seek support for my mental health. Go Mountaineers”

The 6-foot-4 Davies committed to West Virginia last November but had not signed his letter of intent.
