Something that needs to be expressed to the students that I have heard nothing about is that "attendance" in high school is very important. In fact, I would argue it is one of the most important records a child can have in prep. Why? As a prospective employer I don't put much weight on what courses were taken or even what the marks were (with the exception of consistant low marks and failure). I would however look at "will he/she show up for work everyday". I can train and employee, I can even motivate a mediocre employee to accel. I can only do that however if they SHOW UP!!! Bottom line, I don't care what classes you took, what sports you played, what group you were a part of in the formative years. What I do care about is can you committ and are you consistant and reliable.
