The bakery was Dorothy's Pastries. It was owned by Dorothy and George Reid. Dorothy's mother was the owner of Grace's Pastries in Adamston. Both were great bakeries.
The record shop was the Music Box, owned by Mike Swick and Lee Ransom. The only real record store in Clarksburg to my knowledge. Mike was an alum of Victory High and a great trumpet player.

I believe the bakery that was located at the far end of the plaza, actually it was the first store on the end, was Dorothy’s Pastry. I always took my kids there, when they were quite young, for a special treat. Their favorites were always the large iced cut out cookies. The cookie was a treat in itself, but getting to pick out one of the many colorful shapes was quite a challenge to them. Her birthday cakes were my all time favorite, lots of buttery flavor.

Jeff...I remember David Weis. Seemed like the layout was more open as I recall. Not all jammed up with stuff but spread out. There was also a record store down on that end. Yes, that's what I said, "record, LP's, vinyl. The always had well, music playing and incense burning. They had a stand that displayed the album they were playing. I thought it was pretty cool and so I made my own. A fellow by the name of Lee used to work there. I think he lives in Grafton now. Seems like I remember after one of those stores went out a high end clothing store tried. Maurice's as it was called. I don't think they got to far off the ground. There was a drive thru car wash at one point and a movie rental place. I can see that man that owned the bakery but I just put a name to him. I think it was a mom and pop deal. I think they lived in the Limestone Junction area. Their son dated Fuzzy and Saundra Lopez's daughter Shawna. Tommy I believe was his name. All them kids went to Liberty...best I can do but thanks for the memories.
