- Saw Greer present a trio of proclamations. The proclamations from the mayor went to the Bridgeport Midget Cheerleaders for their first place finish in the Mountaineer Youth Football competition and also one to the Bridgeport PeeWee White football team for winning the MYF title. A third proclamation by Greer was presented to various law enforcement officers. The proclamation recognized National Law Enforcement Day 2016.
- Heard from former Bridgeport City Council member Melissa Matheny who is involved with the Wives Behind the Badges organization. That group’s goal is to support families of law enforcement and to support law enforcement itself. She spoke of the upcoming “Paint the Town Blue” event, which you will learn more about in the days ahead on Connect-Bridgeport.
