The Mountain East Conference has announced the dates and venues for 10 of its conference championships in 2017-18.

 

The following will serve as the venues for the upcoming league championships:

* Men's and Women's Golf (Oct. 9-11): The Resort at Glade Springs (Daniels, W.Va.)

* Men's and Women's Tennis (Women: Oct. 20-22; Men: April 20-22): Brian David Fox Tennis Center (Huntington, W.Va.)

* Men's and Women's Cross Country (Oct. 21): Bridgeport Recreation Complex (Bridgeport, W.Va.)

* Men's and Women's Basketball (Women: Feb. 28-March 4; Men: March 7-11): Charleston Civic Center (Charleston, W.Va.)

* Softball (May 4-6): James I. Moyer Complex (Salem, Va.)

* Baseball (May 10-13): Linda K. Epling Stadium (Beckley, W.Va.)

 

The cross country championships return to the headquarters of the MEC in Bridgeport, W.Va., for the third-straight year. The fan-friendly course allows for spectators to see a majority of the competition at the Bridgeport Recreation Complex, located conveniently off of I-79. 

 

The MEC has hosted a golf championship at Glade Springs in each of the league's first four years, and the venue is the site for the upcoming Atlantic/East Men's Golf Regional Championship and the NCAA Men's Golf Championship in 2019.

 

The men's and women's tennis championships return to Huntington for the second-straight year. The center has six lighted courts and includes a state-of-the-art scoreboard, and sound system. The MEC also has access to the Huntington Tennis Club in the event of inclement weather.

 

The MEC Basketball Tournament will return to the city of Charleston and the Charleston Civic Center for the fifth-straight year. The league is in the second year of a new tournament format that brings the top 10 men's and women's teams to Charleston. Tournament play begins on Wednesday, March 7, and continues through the week and concludes on Sunday, March 11. The Charleston Civic Center is located within walking distance of several hotels and restaurants, and is across the street from the Charleston Town Center Mall.

 

The league's softball tournament returns to the James I. Moyer Complex in Salem, Va., for the fourth time in five years. The facility has served as the venue for multiple NCAA championships, and will be the location for the national championship again in 2018. 

 

For the fifth-straight year, Linda K. Epling will serve as the venue for the 2018 MEC Baseball Tournament. The facility features an entirely artificial playing surface and video board, and is home to the WV Miners of the Prospect League.
