New White Oaks Restaurant to Specialize in Hoagies and Also Feature Pastas, Burgers, Salads and More

It may be their first restaurant together, but Bridgeport residents Dave Yocco and John Clifton are far from amateurs when it comes to the business.

“I’ve been in the business for more than 20 years and John’s been in it for a long time too,” said Yocco. “We had a chance to do our own thing and wanted to try it out. Hopefully, (this coming week), the community will want to try it out too.

Barring something unforeseen, the plan is to open the newest restaurant at White Oaks in Bridgeport. The restaurant led by the two well-known locals will be Country Roads Grill.

The new restaurant is one of two businesses housed in the 8,000 square foot structure going up at the location in White Oaks off of South Wedge Street. For those unfamiliar with that roadway, it’s the road leading into the entrance to the new BFS and the Black Bear Express businesses situated just off of the Saltwell Road exist of Interstate 79 South. The entrance to the new restaurant is just past that entrance heading toward Saltwell.

The new building is visible from Interstate 79 and already is home to Colours, Inc. It’s recently had a freshly paved road put in place and the site will eventually be home to another building that will host one or more commercial entities.

“This opportunity at White Oaks, with so much business coming this way, was too good to pass up,” said Yocco. “The sky is the limit and that’s if you consider the hospital, the businesses in White Oaks, the FBI and the people in the immediate area. We’re also right off the interstate.”

The location in White Oaks and just minutes off of I-79 was a key part in moving forward, said Clifton.

“That’s the main reason we decided to come out here. Our main focus starting off will be capturing the lunchtime crowd and we’ll facilitate that with a delivery service,” said Clifton, who has been in the restaurant business for more than 15 years. “We can help many of the businesses, large or small, in a quick and convenient manner and not have to have them worry if they have enough time for lunch. We’re right here and we’ll be quick so they can enjoy their lunch.”

The business will have more than 80 seats for those wishing to dine in. There will be a room available for parties, banquets and various other gatherings.

So what’s on the menu? Hoagies from steak to sausage, fresh patty burgers, pastas, salads, sandwiches and much more. Sand

“Hoagies will be our main focus,” said Clifton, who said initially they plan to have eight employees counting himself and Yocco.

Hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Delivery will be offered Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The owners hope to extend the hours a bit. However, they’re going to watch traffic and customer flow and build up a customer base before making any changes. If things go as planned, they hope to be open to 9 p.m.

The business can be reached by calling 304-592-3047.
