Since it opened in 1994, the Pete Dye Golf Club located just on the outskirts of Bridgeport of the Meadowbrook Road has received more than its share of accolades. And nearly 25 years later, the praise for the course continues to pour in.

 

Earlier this year, the course made the list of America’s 100 greatest golf courses, according to Golf Digest. The course was ranked No. 60 on the list and it’s not the first time that the club named after one of golf’s great course designers has been recognized by Golf Digest.

 

This time, however, another publication has weighed in with another list. Once again, Pete Dye has made the cut.

 

Last month, Golfweek released its list of the top 100 modern golf courses in the United States. The list appeared in the April 10, 2017 issues of Golfweek.

 

Although a little more limited in the field, it likely doesn’t diminish the fact that Pete Dye not only was in the top 100, but nearly cracked the top 10. The well-known private course that covers 7,308 yards and is a par 72 was ranked No. 11 on the list.

 

It was one of two course on the list. Pikewood National in Morgantown, which was done in 2009, made the cut at No. 32. Pikewood is new to the list this year.

 

The courses ranked were all done after 1960. Golfweek raters did the work and their scores for the top 100 can be found in the link below.

 

While Pete Dye’s course with his name on it just missed the top 10, Dye did have one of his course make the top 10. Whistling Straits in Mosel, Wis., comes in at No. 6. It was open in 1997 and is part of a resort.
