By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on August 21, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

FROM THE WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS

The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that there will be a 24-hour lane closure on U.S. Route 50/Salem Downtown exit beginning today (Monday, Aug. 21) through Sunday, Oct. 15, 2018. West Virginia Route 23 will be used as an alternate route.

The purpose for the closure is construction of a new bridge structure on U.S. Route 50 at Salem. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane both eastbound and westbound at U.S. Route 50. The westbound exit ramp will be narrowed, but will remain open.

Roadway widths will be maintained at a minimum of 16 feet. Please note that inclement weather or unforseen circumstances could change the project schedule. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commutes.
