The Bridgeport Police Civil Service Commission is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer for the City of Bridgeport. To qualify for the examinations, applicants must be not less than 18 nor more than 40 years of age on the date application is submitted; shall have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, must possess or be able to obtain a valid WV operator’s license and must agree to submit to a physical, psychological and any other such examinations or tests as may be required by the commission prior to appointment.
Beginning annual salary without police certification is $29,640, with certification is $34,860 and an increase to $36,587 for a certified officer after successful completion of a six-month probationary period. The City of Bridgeport offers an excellent fringe benefit package including fully paid health insurance for individual coverage with modest premiums for family coverage and a college tuition reimbursement program.
